How To Watch the 2021 Mummers Parade Stream on a TV
The easiest way: Wired HDMI
The most basic PC-to-TV connection consists of running a wire from your computer to the HDMI input on your TV. If you have an older TV and an older laptop, there are options like VGA as well.
More wired tips: There are so many varieties of laptops out there, we can’t make a blanket statement that a particular adapter will work for your PC. If you’re not sure, Google your brand and model before you buy any kind of adapter.
If you are in the Philadelphia area, Locast might be an alternate option to stream the Mummers Parade. Locast is a not-for-profit service offering users access to broadcast television stations over the internet. They stream the signal over the Internet to select US cities. If you are outside of the Philadelphia area, you would need to spoof your location using a VPN to be able to get the PHL17 broadcast.
Casting from a Chrome browser: If you don’t have a TV device with AirPlay or Miracast compatibility you can still mirror your screen from the Chrome browser on any laptop, using a ChromeCast.
Casting from a Android device:
AirPlay on Apple
If you have an Apple computer: The easiest way is to use AirPlay. But you’ll need a device that supports it, namely:
- Apple TV
- Apple TV 4K
- A TV that’s Air Play 2 compatible, namely a 2019 TV from Samsung, Sony, LG or Vizio.
MiraCast on Windows
If you have a recent Windows 10 PC: There’s something called Miracast. Miracast can be used with a Roku or a Windows Wireless Display Adapter.
