“The Secret Life of Mummers” will be the topic of a talk by Alan Visitacion on Nov. 21 from 1 to 3 p.m., at St. Stephen’s Church in Beverly, NJ at an event hosted by the Riverfront Historical Society.
Visitacion, an Edgewater Park resident, has been a Mummer since 1978, when he was recruited from his high school marching band to play for the Fancy Brigades. Next New Year’s Day will mark 38 years of his parading with the Mummers.
He will share his experiences, complete with music, video and costumes. “If I do my job right, you may never look at the Mummers parade the same way again,” Visitacion said. During the multi-media presentation, he will also share archive photos and audio clips.
